Why/How to Purchase Excursions

What are Monograms excursions and activities?
Monograms provides you a way to research and purchase excursions and activities online before your vacation. By purchasing excursions and activities before a vacation, you have the opportunity to craft a more personal vacation experience and plan your time and budget in advance. Services for these excursions and activities are operated by local operators or third parties that are independent of Monograms.

What are the steps to purchase?
To purchase excursions for your Monograms vacation, first access your vacation reservation by entering your Invoice/Reservation Number on the My Excursions page. Once you’ve found your vacation, click the Book Excursions button to view available excursions for the cities you are visiting. After you have made your selections, you can checkout.

What are the advantages of purchasing my excursions with Monograms before my vacation?
By purchasing your excursions before your vacation you can plan your budget and time on things you want to see and do while you’re on vacation. Many people spend unnecessary time on vacation trying to figure out what to do. We have done all the work for you by providing the most popular excursions and activities for the cities you will be visiting.

Do I need to purchase excursions for everyone that is going on this vacation?
No, not everyone who is traveling with you has to purchase the same excursions. If only some of the people traveling want to participate, you can select those people when purchasing. The only exception is that children under the age of 18 must have an adult with them on any excursions.

What are the different styles and what is included?
We have provided a lot of information about our excursions, including an overview of the excursion or activity, the time of day the excursion takes place and the duration. In addition to this information, we have defined the style of each excursion and provided you with what is included in the price.

Anytime ExcursionsWith these excursions and activities it’s easy to coordinate your time and schedule as they are offered throughout the day. Make sure to review the excursion description for duration information and recommended times.

Art & Architecture:
Art & ArchitectureThese excursions could highlight and include art, sculpture, paintings, architecture, structural design and building attractions and sights.

City Cultural:
City CulturalThese excursions are more metropolitan in nature and could feature an urban and cultural experience unique to that location.

Cruise:
CruisesA portion or the entire excursion will be spent on a cruise/boat on water.


Entertainment/Theater:
Entertainment & TheaterThese excursions feature a form of entertainment which could include a theatrical live performance or they might include tickets to a show with reserved seating.

Educational:
EducationalThese excursions provide a unique informative experience that could provide insight and knowledge about facts, figures, history, theory and more.

Family Friendly:
Family FriendlyThese excursions are great for all ages and perfect for the whole family.


Historical:

Headsets included

Headset:
On your excursion, a headset will be provided so you are sure to hear all information clearly and/or provide additional audio information.

English speaking guides

English Speaking:
The guide, instructor and/or leader will provide information in English.

Gratuity included in the cost of the excursion

Gratuity:
Your gratuity has been included in the cost of the excursion. As always, it is recommended to recognize while on vacation anyone who has provided exceptional and outstanding service.

Guide included

Guide:
During your excursion or activity a guide, instructor or leader will be with you.

Meal and/or snack included

Meal/Snack:
During the excursion or activity a meal and/or snack will be provided.

Some excursions indicate a special status, what does each status mean?

Interactive & Hands-On
This excursion is sold out and is not longer available to purchase because lack of space, inventory and/or tickets are unavailable.

Interactive & Hands-On
This excursiion has been cancelled and is no longer being offered.

Interactive & Hands-On
This excursion has limited space and inventory, however is still available to purchase. We will verify that all purchases are confirmed at the time of booking and once booked, this excursion will become Sold Out.

What happens if I book more than one excursion for the same timeframe?
We only show you excursions that are available for the time you will be in that location and the system automatically prevents you from purchasing excursions that may overlap another chosen excursion. The only exception to this is excursions that are offered “Anytime”. These excursions do not have set start times and thus you can purchase and use at your leisure on vacation in the destination city of the excursion. Please be careful and check the duration of the “Anytime” excursion and verify you will have time to compete the excursion. There are no refunds for excursions not used while on vacation.

Do I have to purchase all my excursions at once?
No, that’s the beauty of working with Monograms. You can return anytime outside of 10 days to your departure to purchase additional excursions, as well as cancel existing excursions that are not listed as non-refundable. Each time you purchase new excursions, you will have a new Order Number for that transaction. We do all we can to make planning your trip exactly as you want easy and fun!

When do I have to pay for my excursions or activities?
Excursions selected at the time of your initial Monograms vacation purchase are reserved when you pay your deposit of your Monograms vacation, unless the excursion states it is non-refundable in the description. Non-refundable excursions must be paid in full at time of check-out however. Final payment for excursions selected and held with your Monograms vacation will be due on the same date as your Monograms vacation. This date will be shown on your Monograms vacation invoice. Excursions not paid in full at the time of final payment of your Monograms vacation will automatically be cancelled. After your initial booking, you can come back to www.monogramstravel.com/login at anytime up to 10 days prior to your vacation start date and add additional excursions or activities. Payment will be required in full for these additional excursion orders and you will be given a separate excursion order confirmation.

Are children allowed on all the excursions?
The excursions will list children prices, if applicable. Some excursions do not allow children and therefore you will not be allowed to purchase them for children in the group. Also, children are not allowed to participate in an excursion without an adult in the traveling party also participating. Please note that Monograms does not provide any child watching services. Some excursions have a minimum age to participate in portions of an excursion (i.e. wine tasting.) Pricing for young travelers reflects these participation restrictions.

What is the difference between a “Standard” and “Private” excursion?
Some excursions list both a “Standard” and “Private” price. In general, a “Standard” excursion means you will be participating in the activity with a group of other people. A “Private” excursion will only be for you and your group, unless otherwise stated in the description of the excursion. Some excursions are only offered as “Private” excursions and in the title and description it will say, “PRIVATE EXCURSION” with standard pricing.

What information is available about excursions?
For each excursion and activity we have provided detailed information to help you plan your vacation. There is a description and an overview of what you will see and do, what options are available, the duration of the excursion, the time of day it takes place, as well as what is included. You will see the price for “Standard” and “Private” excursions and child pricing. We also show which excursions are offered at the same time.

Are excursions offered on vacation? Do I have to purchase them before my vacation?
Yes, excursions are offered while you’re on vacation based on availability. It is recommended, however, that you purchase excursions before you leave.

If food is provided during an excursion, do I have a choice of menu?
Typically, there is a pre-set meal and/or the choices of entrees are limited. If you have special dietary needs, you will need to coordinate these with your Local Host or guide while you’re on vacation.

How are excursions priced?
All excursions that are purchased before your vacation are sold in US dollars at the best price. If you wait to purchase these excursions on vacation, you may be asked to pay in local currency and not all excursions accept credit card payments while on vacation.

What is not included in the price for each excursion?
The following items are not included unless listed in the “Included” area for each excursion: gratuities, a headset, a guide, and/or a meal/snack. In addition, tips to local guides and drivers, food or alcohol outside of the contracted Monograms menu as presented at the restaurant and/or noted in the excursion description (these extra items will be billed to you before leaving the restaurant), and all other items of a personal nature are not included in the excursion price.

Are excursions accessible to disabled travelers?
Monograms will make reasonable attempts to accommodate the special needs of disabled travelers, but is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so, nor is it responsible for any denial of services. The Americans with Disabilities Act is only applicable within the United States and facilities for disabled individuals are limited outside its borders.

How can I pay for my excursions?
Excursions can be purchased online from this Web site with a credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Otherwise, you can purchase excursions on vacation and payment will vary depending on your location.

Are there additional terms and conditions?
Yes, make sure you read our Excursion Terms and Conditions before making your purchase. You will need to acknowledge that you have read them at the time of purchase.

After Purchasing My Excursions

Can I cancel my excursion choices?
You are able to cancel excursions purchased online up to 10 days prior to the vacation departure date. There is no penalty or cancellation fee for making cancellations up to this time. A refund will be posted immediately to the credit card that you used to pay for the excursions. However, from nine days prior to your departure date and forward, no cancellations can be accepted and therefore a 100% cancellation fee applies. Any request for refund is subject to these terms and conditions.

What will I receive after purchasing my excursions?
Once you complete your purchase, you will need to print the confirmation page. You will also receive a receipt at the e-mail address listed on your Profile. We will notify the Local Host and/or the guide of your purchase, but it is recommended that you also bring a copy of your receipt with you on vacation.

What happens if I need to cancel my excursion(s)?
You can return to My Monograms and access your vacation with your invoice/reservation number. Once you find your vacation, you can click on the “Cancel” button displayed next to any excursions. Refunds will be credited back to the purchasing credit card. Within 10 days of your departure, no cancellations will be allowed and therefore a 100% cancellation fee applies.

Will the insurance I purchased with my Monograms vacation cover cancelled excursions?
Yes, the excursions are a part of your vacation cost and are covered per the regulations of the policy. Review the insurance regulations for more information.

What if I do not have a printer to print vouchers for my purchases?
If you do not have a printer available to print required vouchers and/or confirmations, please contact Monograms via phone or email. Monograms will send you via overnight service any confirmations and vouchers requested by you and/or required for your vacation. There is a fee for this service which will be advised at time of request.

Before/During My Vacation

Can I change/cancel my excursion(s) while I am on vacation?
While on vacation, you can purchase additional excursions and activities, but you cannot cancel or change pre-purchased excursions. It might be possible to change days or times of your excursion, however you will need to coordinate these changes when you are there.

What happens if Monograms cancels an excursion I have purchased?
If for some reason Monograms has to cancel your excursion before your vacation, you will be notified by e-mail that your excursion was cancelled. We will credit back the full amount to the purchasing credit card. In the event that an excursion has to be cancelled (not operating, construction, unexpected event/holiday) while you’re on vacation, we will be notified by the Local Host and/or guide and we will credit back the full amount to the purchasing credit card. You will not be able to receive a refund while on vacation.

What will I need to bring to show that I have purchased an excursion?
We will notify the Local Host and/or the guide of your purchase, but it is highly recommended that you bring a copy of your confirmation with you on vacation. For our North America vacations, you will be required to print vouchers and present them on vacation as proof of purchase. You will receive an e-mail notifying you when you can print these vouchers.

What happens if I have purchased an excursion and I choose not to participate?
If for some reason you’re on vacation and you choose not to participate in a pre-purchased excursion or activity (due to illness, inclement weather, etc.), but the excursion is still operating as normal, Monograms unfortunately will not be able to refund your purchase. It might be possible to switch times and/or days with the Local Host or guide if your itinerary or excursion allows.

While on vacation, if you have any questions or need assistance, contact your Local Host and/or guide.

After My Vacation

What if I have questions, concerns, comments about my excursion(s), who do I contact?
If you need to contact Monograms after your vacation for any reason, you can contact us by e-mail, phone or mail.
