- In the shadows of the Rockies, Denver has more than 300 days of sunshine a year, so what better way to spend the day than strolling along the tree-lined shops and restaurants of the 16th Street Mall? If shopping’s not your thing, just relax and have a bite to eat or a drink at one of the many outdoor pubs and cafés that dot the picturesque street. A free mall shuttle runs the length of the Mall.
- Denver is home to one of the U.S. Mints, and free guided tours are available on weekdays. Tours cover both the present state of coin manufacturing as well as the history of the Mint. Learn about the craftsmanship required at all stages of the minting process—from the original designs and sculptures to the actual striking of the coins.
- Take part in a longstanding Denver tradition with afternoon tea at the historic Brown Palace Hotel. Scones, tea pastries, and tea sandwiches are artfully prepared by the hotel’s culinary staff each day, and Devonshire cream is shipped directly from England. Enjoy the soothing sounds of a harpist or pianist.
- Travel to the top of nearby Lookout Mountain and visit the museum and gravesite of “Buffalo Bill” Cody. The museum includes exhibits about Buffalo Bill’s life and the Wild West shows, Indian artifacts, Western art, and firearms.

Return in the evening to experience acoustic perfection as some of the biggest stars in music take the stage.
