• Visit the nearby Grand Valley, the heart of the Colorado wine and fruit-growing industry. Visit the local vineyards, enjoy a tour, and, of course, sample the wines.
• Enjoy the Trail Through Time hike, a 1.5-mile interpretive trail where you can view fossils of 140-million-year-old dinosaurs at a working fossil quarry. An interpretive kiosk describes the dinosaurs that roamed the area.
• Visit the Colorado National Monument for incredible scenery. Here, sheer-walled canyons, towering red sandstone monoliths, and beautiful valleys host a myriad of wildlife, and the land has been preserved as it was thousands of years ago.
