• Take the easy way up in the famous Stowe gondola. Spectacular views await near the peak of Vermont’s highest mountain. From the gondola, access hiking trails or stop for a bite in the lift summit snack bar. You may also choose to experience an exhilarating 2,300-foot ride down Spruce Peak on the Stowe Alpine Slide.
• Visit the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, the largest maker of American-made teddy bears. Tour the factory, visit the Bear Shop, design your own bear, or have a bit to eat at the Hungry Bear Café.
• Visit the Ethan Allen Homestead Museum, the historic home of Ethan Allen. The Homestead offers hands-on history, spectacular scenery, and riverside picnic areas and walks. It provides an intimate look at Vermont’s most colorful—and controversial—founder.
• Explore Lake Champlain in style on the Ethan Allen III, the lake’s largest pleasure craft. Make sure to bring your camera to capture images of the Adirondacks with Lake Champlain in the foreground. Sightseeing and lunch cruises are available.
• Located in Vermont’s scenic Lake Champlain Valley, the Shelburne Museum is one of the nation’s finest, most diverse, and unconventional museums of art and Americana. Over 150,000 works are exhibited in a remarkable setting of 39 exhibition buildings. Impressionist paintings, folk art, quilts and textiles, decorative arts, furniture, American paintings, and a dazzling array of artifacts dating back to the 19th century are on view.
• A trip to Vermont wouldn’t be complete without visiting one of the many sugarhouses, a mix of cutting-edge technology and centuries-old tradition. Most of the sugar makers are open all year, selling their products directly to visitors and many also filling mail orders for gift giving.
