• Cross the Coronado Bridge and head for the world-famous Del Coronado Hotel. Here you can sip a drink on the veranda overlooking Imperial Beach, where they filmed Some Like It Hot with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon.

• Check out Mission Beach, San Diego’s playground of fun with over two miles of sunbathing, surfing, swimming, and even a rollercoaster.

• Explore the Gaslamp Quarter, a 16-block section of downtown that is a national historic district filled with specialty shops, art galleries, restaurants, theaters, and nightclubs. It’s also an excellent neighborhood for checking out the city’s early Victorian architecture.

• Visit Cabrillo National Monument, one of the best locations in San Diego for spectacular views of the bay and city skyline. Named for Portuguese explorer Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo, who landed in San Diego Bay in 1542, this complex includes a museum and Point Loma Lighthouse, which towers 433 feet above the ocean.
