Meet a Local Host® in Dubai

Hi, my name is Alvin. During your stay in the UAE, if you need any help or information on shopping, activities or places of interest, I will be more than happy to assist you in any way possible.

BurJuman Centre

A massive shopping mall in the Bur Dubai area with shops selling designer brands, a cinema complex, and other leisure activities. In addition there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to revive your spirits when you're all shopped out.

Heritage Village and Diving Village

An enjoyable, interactive look at Dubai's past found on the Creek. The diving village features displays on pearl diving, as well as scale models of dhows and pearling boats. The heritage village recreates a Bedouin settlement, complete with homes made from Barasti (dried palm leaves tied together) and mud. You can also enjoy pottery and weaving workshops as well as visiting a traditional coffee house. A small souk sells a mixture of traditional Bedouin handcrafts and imported items.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Meandering paths lead visitors through a bazaar-like atmosphere in which open fronted shops and intimate galleries spill onto the paved walkways. The sounds of craftsmen and women at work combine with the aroma from street cafés and boutique restaurants. At Souk Madinat Jumeirah, the emphasis is on unique brands, crafted quality and an interactive experience.

Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR Walk)

Loaded with over 300 restaurants, stores, supermarkets and boutiques, the one mile JBR Walk is a very popular outdoor shopping and dining promenade, especially on the weekends when traffic slows down so you can get a great views of the sports cars as they drive by. Get some exercise by walking end to end, stop for a tasty treat and watch the rest of the world go by, or head out to JBR Open Beach (in front of the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah) for a little swim time.

Meet a Local Host®

My name is Rajesh Sharma. I have been working tourism since 2008, and I look forward to guiding you through the unique and colorful experience of India.

The National Gallery of Modern Art

The National Gallery of Modern Art is a treasure trove of pre-independent and modern Indian art. From rare town-study canvases by the Daniells and legendary portraits by Raja Ravi Verma to Amrita Shergil masterpieces and prized creations by India’s finest Modernists - Tyeb, Husain, Souza and Ramachandran, the Gallery presents a showcase of India’s finest works. Jaipur House, the erstwhile palace of Maharaja Jaipur has served as the premises for the museum since 1954 and makes a stunning architectural statement. (Closed Monday)

National Museum

The National Museum has in its possession over 200,000 works of exquisite art, both of Indian and foreign origin covering more than 5,000 years of India’s cultural heritage and bringing history to life. The Museum’s collections include Harappan Civilization, Archeology, Buddhist Art, Indian Miniature Paintings, Indian Textiles, Coins, Central Asian Antiquity, Pre-Columbian and Western Art, Wood Carving, Musical Instruments, Tribal Lifestyle and Arms and Armor. (Closed Monday)

Connaught Place

Connaught Place has a long and distinguished history behind it. This sprawling market was designed in the shape of a horseshoe as the British believed it would prove lucky for both shoppers and shopkeepers. There may be something in that as CP continues to be Delhi’s premier shopping destination. Apart from being the commercial and business hub of Delhi, CP has countless restaurants, watering holes, shops and emporia and cinema halls too.

Jama Masjid

Built between 1644 and 1658, Jama Masjid is one of the last architectural works of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and the largest mosque in India. Built from red sandstone and marble by more than 5,000 artisans the mosque is located on a mound in the heart of the old city which projects beautifully against the city skyline.

The Ghats

Along the banks of Yamuna River you will find the ghats (stairs leading to river) where the leaders and freedom fighters of India were cremated. The Raj Ghat is one of the most visited ghats. This simple square platform of black marble marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated after his assassination in 1948. The cremation ground of Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi are also in the vicinity.

Welcome! My name is Mukesh and I am happy to be with you in Agra. I was born and raised in this great city. My tour guiding commenced in 2000, and I will be very delighted to share my knowledge and experience with you in the city of Taj.

Mehtab Bagh

The garden complex situated on the opposite bank of the Taj Mahal is known as Mehtab Bagh or the Moonlight Garden. It was designed as an integral part of the complex in the riverfront terrace pattern seen elsewhere in Agra. Originally, the garden was planted with fragrant flowers and used in the cool of the night as a place from which to view the Taj Mahal reflected in the octagonal pool and in the river.

Mohabbat The Taj

Indian heritage comes to life at the Kalakriti International Convention Centre which is home to Mohabbat The Taj, a state-of-the-art dance and drama spectacle depicting the famous saga of a King’s love for his Queen. The show tells of the immortal love story of Shajahan and his beautiful wife Mumtaj, highlighting the lavish lifestyle of the Mughal era and the hardships faced by the artisans who, for 22 years, toiled over the creation of one of the most amazing displays of craftsmanship in the world. During the show, a 12ft x 12ft replica of the Taj Mahal, the largest of its kind is lifted onto the stage. Hi-tech lighting, dramatic Dolby surround sound and comfortable seats fitted with multilingual options round out a mesmerizing theatrical experience. (August – April, 6.30pm-7.50pm)

Hi I'm Mahendra and I look forward to sharing with you all that Jaipur has to offer.

Ram Niwas Garden

Built in 1868 by Swai Ram Singh the garden sprawls over 33 acres in the center of Jaipur. In addition to the lovely gardens you will also find the Albert Hall Museum, the state Zoo, Ravindra Manch Theatre and several cafes and picnic spots on the premises.

Bapu & Nehru Bazaars

The ultimate places to get the famous Mojri shoes made from soft camel leather. With beautiful embroidering and vibrant colors these shoes are also comfortable and durable. Fabrics can also be found here as well as saris in colorful block prints inherent to this region.

Albert Hall

This museum, known to be the oldest in the state, was designed by Colonel Sir Swinton Jacob in 1876 to greet King Edward VII (Prince of Wales) on his visit to India. Positioned amidst the gardens of Ram Niwas Bagh in Jaipur, this museum has an assortment of rare articles on display including textiles, carpets, paintings, metal and wood crafts, pottery, arms and weapons, native flora and fauna, toys, dolls and even an Egyptian mummy.
